Hemingway Studies in Japan

Hemingway Studies in Japan highlights critical trends in Hemingway scholarship produced in Japan over the past few decades. The book is a compilation of sixteen chapters exploring Hemingway's work through a distinct range of perspectives, including race, gender, ecology, visual arts, religion, and cross-cultural exchanges. All of the chapters were written by recognized scholars in Japan, fifteen of which have been previously published in journals or in scholarly books written in Japanese. The editors hope that by translating these works into English a larger Anglophone audience will have access to a rich new source of Hemingway scholarship, one that will benefit academics and students outside Japan and contribute to Hemingway studies worldwide.
